Parenting
DARE To Be You (DTBY) focuses on improving the parenting skills of parents of children ages 2 to 18 years in order to promote children's resiliency to problems later in life, which can, in turn, reduce children's alcohol and drug use.
DTBY addresses the following Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) risk factors:
- Individual attitudes towards substance use
- Perceived risk of substance use
- Favorable parental attitudes and involvement in the problem behavior
DARE To Be You is an evidence-based multilevel prevention program that serves high-risk families with children. The program is designed to help parents improve their relationships with their children, develop new parenting skills, and/or identify effective techniques for navigating family transitions. Classes meet for 16 hours over the course of a month. Pre-registration is required.
PRO (Project Reach Out) is a supportive, empowering discussion group about drug and alcohol use.
This program is designed to provide alcohol, tobacco and other drug education and decision making skills to people who are not addicted to alcohol and other drugs.
