Employee Education

AssistNOW provides a dynamic and engaging experience that will allow your employees to become more comfortable with the "safety-on-the-job" focus of the Drug- Free Safety program. Employees will participate in activities and discussions, as well as, receive reference materials that will assist them in upholding the policy and creating a safer workplace. Through our education sessions, employees will achieve a greater understanding of:

• The major problem represented by substance use in the workplace and how it affects safety, employees' jobs, families and their lives
• What constitutes substance use and misuse that is defined in your written DFSP policy
• The disease model for alcohol and other drugs
• Substance-use signs and symptoms
• Effects of commonly-used drugs in the workplace
• What assistance your employees can receive if they or their family members have a substance problem
• A shared list of helping resources in your community that employees can turn to for themselves or their families
